Inauguration of the Diploma in Human Resource Management (DHRM) 2025/26 Programme

The Department of Human Resources Management, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, ceremonially inaugurated the Diploma in Human Resource Management (DHRM) 2025/26 Programme on Sunday, 4 January 2026, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the 3.2 Hall, East Wing Building, Faculty of Management and Finance.

The occasion was graced by Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, and Professor Nihal Hennayake, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance, who attended as Chief Guests. The formal proceedings commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Rajitha Silva, Head of the Department of Human Resources Management.

The keynote address was delivered by Ms. Chethana Liyanage, Chief Talent Officer of the Capital Maharaja Group and Chief Executive Officer of the Maharaja Institute of Management (Pvt) Ltd, who shared insightful perspectives on the evolving and strategic role of Human Resource Management in a rapidly changing world of work.

The ceremony brought together academic and non-academic staff of the faculty, alongside the newly enrolled students, marking the beginning of a shared academic journey rooted in excellence, professionalism, and lifelong learning.
