THE DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION
STUDIES
The Department of Management and Organization Studies offers BBA (Special) degree programme which provides students with knowledge, skills and the required attitudes to be Management Professionals in any functional area of business or successful entrepreneurs.
The department offers undergraduate students opportunities by conducting several annual events as Business Idea Competition (BIC) which generates and commercializes innovative business ideas of students, Research Development Forum (RDF) which builds the platform for the young academics to present their initial research ideas and to develop such ideas in a research culture through the comments of other academics, Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Business Management (DEBM), Higher Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (HDESBM), Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Business Management (PGDEBM), Residential Workshops, Outbound Trainings, Factory Visits, Guest Lectures, Seminars, and Workshops.

TEACHING FACULTY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION STUDIES
The greatest strength of the Faculty of Management and Finance and the Department of Management and Organization Studies of the University of Colombo is its Teaching Faculty consisting of well-trained academics. Faculty members have acquired their academic and professional training from well reputed institutes all over the world and thus have brought diverse experiences, tradition and perspectives, which are definite requirements to train the professional managers who very often need to cross the boundaries of cultures, disciplines and experiences in the continuous flux of their organisational lives.
In addition to this core faculty, the department draws well-trained academics from other local universities and foreign universities as well as well-experienced professional managers and entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka.
