The FMF Music Circle, established in 2023 under the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, aims to nurture musical talent and promote creative expression among FMF students. Since its inception, it has provided a vibrant platform for students to develop their musical skills, showcase their talents, and engage in collaborative artistic experiences alongside their academic pursuits.
The Circle supports students through regular practices, performances, and structured activities. With the introduction of a fully equipped Music Practice Studio within the Faculty premises, exclusively for FMF Music Circle members, students are provided with a dedicated space to rehearse, refine their techniques, and grow as musicians.
The Circle’s flagship event, “Thumul Rawa,” is an annual music night featuring performances by Music Circle members, creatively blended with dance and stage presentations, alongside invited guest artists. Apart from its flagship event, the Music Circle conducts various activities such as “Good Vibes,” the junior welcome programme, “Sindu Handaawa,” and “Padura,” providing students with opportunities to perform, connect, and share their passion for music. Through these initiatives, the FMF Music Circle contributes to a lively and inclusive faculty culture, balancing academic life with artistic expression while fostering teamwork, creativity, and confidence among students.

Message from the Club Advisor
FMF Music Circle
The FMF Music Circle represents a vibrant space for creativity, collaboration, and artistic growth within the Faculty of Management and Finance. Having been a member of the Circle during my undergraduate years and one of its founding members, I have had the privilege of witnessing its journey from very modest beginnings to the strong and well-established platform it is today.
It is truly encouraging to see the enthusiasm, talent, and commitment of its members and the opportunities available to them today. The establishment of a dedicated and fully equipped Music Practice Studio is an important milestone in this journey, providing students with a valuable space to develop their musical skills, practise together, and pursue their passion for music.
As the Club Advisor and the Senior Treasurer, I am committed to giving my fullest support towards the continued growth and development of the FMF Music Circle. I encourage all members to make responsible use of the facilities provided, work together with harmony and discipline, and continue building upon the strong foundation created by those who came before them.
I wish the FMF Music Circle continued success in all its future endeavours and look forward to seeing it reach greater heights while enriching the cultural and creative life of the faculty.
