Inauguration Ceremony -DHRM 2026/27 Online Programme

The Department of Human Resources Management, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, successfully conducted the Inauguration Ceremony of the Diploma in Human Resource Management (DHRM) 2026/27 Online Programme on 18 September 2026 from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. via Zoom. The inauguration marked the commencement of a new academic and professional journey for the new cohort of DHRM students, who have joined the Department of Human Resources Management, University of Colombo, to enhance their knowledge and professional capabilities in Human Resource Management.

The ceremony was graced by Professor Nihal Hennayake, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Rajitha Silva, Head of the Department of Human Resources Management, also attended the occasion together with lecturers of the Department of Human Resource Management and the Faculty of Management and Finance, academic support staff and non-academic staff. The programme also featured the participation of Mr. Ruwin Yapa, Group Head of Human Resources, Thema Collection – Resorts and Spas, who shared valuable professional insights with the new DHRM students, highlighting the relevance of academic learning to contemporary HR practice. Mr. Neran Udawatta, a former student of the DHRM programme, also joined the ceremony and shared his reflections and experiences of the DHRM programme with the new students.

The inauguration provided an opportunity to formally welcome the new cohort to the Department of Human Resources Management and introduce them to the academic and professional environment of the DHRM programme.

The Department warmly welcomes the DHRM 2026/27 students and wishes them a rewarding and successful journey filled with learning, professional growth and meaningful experiences as they begin their studies at the University of Colombo.
