University of Colombo has placed as Silver Medallists at the EcoVision Business Case Challenge

We are beyond Proud to share that the University of Colombo has placed as Silver Medallists at the EcoVision Business Case Challenge, organised by Universal College Lanka (UCL) in collaboration with the MAS Foundation for Change.

The team representing Business Case Club, University of Colombo, comprising;

1. Mr. Kugan Ganan (2^nd Year, Department of Business Economics)
2. Mr. Nelaka Jayasinghe (2^nd Year, Department of International Business)
3. Ms. Mindu Hapangama (3^rd Year, Department of International Business)
4. Mr. Janith Munasinghe (3^rd Yea, Department of International Business)

was selected from a field of around 30 teams to compete in the Grand Finals. At the Grand Finals held on 22^nd August 2026 at UCL, they presented “Bank Your Waste,” a strategy to break the cycle of waste, canal blockage and flooding in Kolonnawa by turning waste into something the community can bank on rather than dump.

Placing as runners-up among so many strong teams marks a significant achievement. The team extended their appreciation to UCL and the MAS Foundation for Change for the platform and the opportunity.
