The Department of Human Resources Management, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, ceremonially inaugurated the Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management (HDHRM) 2026/27 programme on Sunday, 15th March 2026, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. at the Prof. Jayaratne Conference Hall, Faculty of Management and Finance.
The event was graced by Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, and Professor Nihal Hennayake, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance, who attended as Chief Guests. The proceedings commenced with the welcome address delivered by Dr. Rajitha Silva, Head of the Department of Human Resources Management.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Sathika De Silva, Founder of ORG Analytics. In his professional work, he integrates data science, behavioural insights, and strategic development across several sectors. He also serves as a researcher and a specialist in human resources and capacity development, and is a well-known speaker in the field.
The ceremony brought together academic and non-academic staff of the faculty along with the newly enrolled learning partners, marking the beginning of a shared academic journey grounded in academic excellence, professionalism, and lifelong learning. The Department of Human Resources Management, University of Colombo, extends its best wishes to the HDHRM 2026/27 cohort and looks forward to developing competent and future-ready HR professionals through this programme.
