Staff Development Workshop: Enhancing Gen Z Engagement through LEGO®️ Serious Play®️

The Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, successfully conducted a staff development workshop on “Building Engagement: Integrating LEGO®️ Serious Play®️ with Interactive Teaching for Gen Z” on July 3, 2025, at the QA Cell.

The session, initiated by Senior Professor Arosha Adikaram, was designed to equip academic staff with innovative teaching strategies tailored to the learning preferences of Gen Z students. The resource person, Ms. Shenali Guneratne, Senior Manager – People Transformation (Engineering), facilitated the workshop with deep insight and hands-on activities.

Participants explored how LEGO®️ Serious Play®️ (LSP) can be used to foster creativity, interactivity, and reflective thinking in the classroom. The session also integrated gamification techniques, flipped classroom concepts, and collaborative learning models to empower educators with practical tools for engaging students more effectively.

The Faculty extends its appreciation to all academic staff who participated and contributed to making the event a meaningful learning experience.
