About the Doctoral Colloquium

The Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, is organising the ‘Doctoral Colloquium 2026’ in parallel with the 21st International Research Conference on Management and Finance (IRCMF), 2026. This year, we are pleased to extend an invitation to researchers from all higher degree programs, including PhD, DBA MPhil, MBA, and MSc, thereby enabling a wider audience of early-career researchers to participate and benefit from this scholarly exchange.

Date and Time           :  November 26, 2026, at 8.00 am – 5.00 pm

Venue                         : Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo

(Primarily held as an onsite event and only the overseas presenters will get the opportunity to present virtually)

The colloquium will consist of two sessions across three events, allowing participants to customise their involvement based on their needs and interests:

Doctoral Inspiration Talk: “Tares and Tears in the PhD Journey”

 This session aims to inspire and motivate by sharing real experiences of the doctoral journey, along with tips for navigating and succeeding in the doctoral process.

Expert Dialogue: “Integrating Generative AI into Doctoral Research”

We invite you to join us for an enlightening discussion on integrating generative AI into doctoral research, led by the esteemed Professor Roshan Ragel from the University of Peradeniya. As a celebrated scholar in the field of AI, he has an outstanding reputation among both local and international academics. His session promises to inspire and guide you on how to effectively harness the power of AI in your research.

Doctoral Work Presentations: “Present your Research to a Panel of Experts and get Feedback”

Expert guidance and feedback on your research will allow you to identify both your strengths and weaknesses, enhancing your ability to complete or initiate outstanding research endeavours.

Submissions of ongoing research work of researchers can be in the form of concept papers, literature reviews, initial findings, etcThe following are important deadlines which are also given in the flyer.
