The Industry Dialogue 2025, held as part of the 20th International Research Conference on Management and Finance (IRCMF), is organized by the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, under the theme “Catalyzing Sustainable Futures: AI, Industry, and Finance for a Resilient Sri Lanka.” This event brings together leading experts from banking, industry, and policy sectors to engage in a forward-looking discussion on how technological innovation can drive sustainable growth in Sri Lanka.

In an era marked by rapid technological transformation, environmental uncertainty, and economic complexity, the dialogue emphasizes the urgent need for integrated and future-oriented solutions. It will explore how artificial intelligence can serve as a catalyst for reimagining business models, optimizing resource use, and promoting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, while also considering strategies to enhance Sri Lanka’s competitiveness and responsibility in regional and global markets. Furthermore, the conversation will highlight the role of banking and finance in enabling green investments, fostering digital transformation, and advancing inclusive economic growth.

Panelists including Dr. Lalith Weragoda (Chief Human Resources Officer, Sampath Bank PLC), Dr. Aruna Dayanatha (Director/Chief Conceptualist, Right X (Pvt) Ltd), Ms. Renuka Weerakone (Director General, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka), and Ms. Zahra Cader (ESG, Government and Public Services Leader, Deloitte Sri Lanka and Maldives) will share their insights and challenge prevailing assumptions to co-create actionable pathways for a sustainable and resilient future. The dialogue seeks to bridge academic thought with industry practice, fostering collaboration among scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to align technological advancement with the values and visions of a sustainable Sri Lanka.
