The history of the Faculty dates from 1979, when the Department of Commerce and Management Studies was established. In May 1994, the Faculty of Management and Finance was founded. In 2007, the structure of the Faculty underwent a change with the establishment of six academic departments, namely, Department of Accounting, Department of Business Economics, Department of Finance, Department of Human Resources Management, Department of Management and Organization Studies, and Department of Marketing. Subsequently, the Department of International Business was established as the seventh department. To coordinate and conduct all postgraduate and extension programmes of the Faculty, the Postgraduate and Mid-career Development Unit was established in 2004.
